I want a kitchen and/or bathroom remodel. How do I start?
The best way to start is by knowing at least these two things:
1) What do you want to accomplish by doing the remodel?
2) What is the style and color scheme that you want?
The internet has an enormous amount of information and pictures. Magazines are a great way to cut and save clippings for inspiration. Start a small notebook or folder to keep your ideas in.
Get help from family and friends or even hire an interior decorator to help you with these decisions. Once you are comfortable, we can help you with the layout.
You can also see samples of our doors and countertops in our showroom by arranging an appointment.
What kind of downtime can I expect for my kitchen remodel?
An average kitchen remodel takes approximately 6-8 weeks depending on variables specific to each job. If we’re just replacing the existing cabinets with no plumbing, electrical, or drywall work needed, the timeline is much shorter, usually 2-3 weeks. Cabinet refacing generally takes less than a week.
What will it cost to remodel my kitchen?
No two kitchen remodels are alike. For this reason, answering questions about cost is very difficult. Our main focus has always been providing our clients with excellent service regardless of their budget. We have served clients whose kitchens have been featured on HGTV due to their original design, as well as clients who were looking for the most cost-effective way to fix up old and outdated kitchens. Generally, it’s easy to design and remodel a kitchen in San Diego, CA for $40,000 or more.
We have worked hard with some homeowners to create smaller kitchen remodels for as little as $15,000. Some of these kitchens required staging improvements over time, considering more cost-effective kitchen features, reusing existing appliances, and/or some personal involvement in the kitchen remodel from the homeowner. The tighter your budget is, the more creativity and flexibility the kitchen project will require.
What is the difference between a Granite or Quartz countertop?
Granite is a natural stone made out of mostly quartz and feldspar, but also includes mica and other trace minerals that provide it with its trademark flecked pattern.
Quartz is man-made and is commonly used for countertops. Manufacturers will crush rocks and bind them together with resins to mold it together.
Do you carry liability and workman’s compensation insurance? Are all your workers licensed and insured?
Yes, we do carry workman’s compensation insurance as well as general contractor’s liability insurance.
Do you provide clean-up and debris removal upon completion of a remodeling job?
Yes. We make special efforts to minimize our footprint both during and after our remodeling work, so you can better enjoy the remodeling process and its rewards.
Are your kitchen cabinets custom made?
Y9 Construction Inc. offers both custom made and semi-custom cabinets. It is a common misconception that completely custom cabinets are superior to semi-custom cabinets.
The same care and attention to detail are put into both of our cabinet types.
We will be happy to show you samples of our cabinet styles at our showroom or at your house.
